Junior Tap Duet

Postby karenuk » Thu Oct 15, 2009 10:06 am

Hi all,

My daughter is about to start work on her first tap duet - she and her partners are strong tappers for their age and have both done tap solos at festivals for the last 2-3 years. Can anyone suggest some music that might be suitable - we need to be able to cut it to 2.5 minutes, and I would like something that's not too twee, and not overdone. I haven't seen many tap duets in their age range locally so I'm not sure what to suggest, but I know that their tap teacher doesn't like music with singing over tap dances

Hi Karen - many festivals actually will not allow vocal recordings for the tap class.

Have you any idea what kind of thing you'd like them to use?

Swing, solo piano, modern pop etc - the possabilities are endless.

Have a think maybe about their costumes and that may guide you to the right musical style
