Acro Dance can be described many ways Sarah, and almost every description would be argued as being wrong by lots of people.
My interpretation is that acro is a combination of gymnastics and contortion but done tastefully to music and uses dance movement to link the various "tricks" in the routine.
I would say that most people are able to do acro, and yes you can learn it quite quickly, but like every other dance form it is open to opinion whether you are doing it right.
I could probably learn an acro routine in a few hours - that doesn't mean it will be very good, it wont have any complex 'tricks' and I wont be displaying any flexability - It is all about how you regard 'being able to do it'.
To be good at Acro does take years and lots of hard work - it's no different to any other dance form.
As for flexability it os much easier if you start when you are young - your body is more supple, but dont let that stop you. If you want to do it just give it a go and see how you get on.
