Warm ups should last any thing from 20 minutes -- 30 minutes
In warm ups all muscles should be streched properly and correctly! :D :)

i think that the length of a warm up is not that important, the important thing is that you stretch every muscle in your body or you will hurt yourself ! im not saying a warm up should only last a coulpe of miniutes. as long as you get a good stretch then your good :)
i love dance !

Hi,

I don't think how long you do it really matters, you just need to make sure you stretch every single muscle in your body, from head-to-toe, this usually takes at least 15mins to do it properly though.

I think your right it is more important that you warm up all the muscle groups well, than how long it takes.
An important thing to remember is that you don't get lazy durring your warm ups. I have seen this happen in classes where students just go through the stretches without any real effort.
You must be careful not to hurt yourself. It will take longer to heel than it did to hurt it.

Happy warming up :D

How about cooling down ? - does anyone feel that it is important to gradually cool down and reducing heart rate slowly as if you were doing a work out?

I think cooling down is very important in any class, but I think a lot of us might be guility of not following it as importantly as we should.

You do need to reduce your heart rate, gradually also make sure as warm as you maybe when you finish a class you must wrap up, if your going outside. Otherwise your muscles will tighten. Meaning you will be doing more work the next time you warm up.
