All England Dance Semi Finals

Postby macopa » Tue Jun 02, 2009 10:16 pm

Phew, just finished a week in Leamington Spa at the All England Semi's - stressful or what! and I am just the dancers mum! :P

Was anyone else there?

I think we sometimes forget that it's about fun & enjoyment, it gets so competitive!

Was anyone else there? If so, what do you think of the adjudication?

Probably a bit rude to say, but wouldn't it be refreshing to see some younger adjudicators? with a different perspective on modern dance?

You forgot to let us know if your week was successful.

I agree with you about adjudicators. The age isnt neccessarilly important, but they really do need to be up to daye with the trends and fashions of dance.

I sometimes thing the parents can get more stressed than the performer - you are not alone

I think it would be nice to see some adjudicators be a little bit more up to date with the trends of modern dance.
Some I have seen are very set in their ways, and expect very traditional modern dances.
Children these days like to do something a bit more up to date. And I think it is a good thing to encourage.
