Hi Mazzy - I wont pretend that I know much about this, but I did a quick search for you and it seems that lots of people recomend using a Theraband.
Form what I understand it is basically like a long headband made from something strong but stretchy like lycra.
Sickling occurs because the muscles at the outside of your ankles are not quite strong enough.
There are various excersizes you can do to make them stronger - have a search around.
Sorry it's a poor answer, but it's not really my speciality.
